As one of Vietnam's tourism "hot spots", Hoi An has plenty of hotel, resort and guest house accommodation to suit pretty much all tastes and budgets. The old town is home to a wide selection of mid-range hotels, along with a few budget standbys and the odd luxury resort-style operation. Recent years have seen a shift owards the beach however, with a huge range of operations from humble ten-dollar-a-night guest houses to super-luxury operations with every conceiveable facility and amenity on hand for pampered guests. Most of these offer a shuttle service into the old town, and transport is usually readily available anyway. Even newer developments - mostly at the high end of the resort market - are taking shape and opening their doors along the coastal strip to the north of the town, along a pristine stetch of coastline running up to Danang's China Beach. Although prices look set to rise for the 2007-2008 season, with competition remaining stiff in Hoi An, there are still bargains to be found.
