Le Bordeaux French Restaurant, Saigon
They were disappointed. The city was seemingly bereft of decent French fare, and so the three friends decided there and then to do something about it. Eight years later, this first-class French restaurant is testament to their dedication, commitment and, ultimately, professionalism. All three - Phuc, Jean-Paul and Bruno - have a history of involvement in and a love of French cuisine: Phuc has served as chef in many renowned French restaurants in the Mother country including a two-star Michelin venue; Jean-Paul's family has been running top-end restaurants and brasseries in the Bordeaux region for longer than he might care to remember, and Bruno has a similar background in the gastronomic melee of the region. Their combined experience has resulted in Le Bordeaux - the finest original French restaurant in Saigon.
The venue itself is split between two levels - a convivial bar and lounge downstairs and a grand dining room on the first floor. The space is dominated by a decorative, wrought-iron chandelier and the ambiance is at once welcoming and intimate.
Before dining, an aperitif is recommended and the staff at the bar will be pleased to serve your drink of choice. Suitably watered, it's time to climb the central staircase to your table and all the delights it holds in store. |
