Madonna to adopt girl from Cambodia? |
Madonna is looking to adopt a girl from Cambodia, a report has
claimed.
She and husband Guy Ritchie, who adopted David Banda from Malawi in
2006, have apparently asked others to look for a sister for him in
Cambodia. They reportedly believe there will be less bureaucracy
than has been the case for David. A source told The Sun: "Malawi is
bound up in red tape and she hopes that Cambodia will be easier."
The paper also reports that a social worker has concluded that the
pair are good parents to the two-year-old. Simon Chisale, a social
welfare officer for Malawi, found it was "in the best interest of
David" to stay with Madonna and Ritchie. He said they had a happy
and relaxed relationship and David enjoyed "warm, playful
interaction" with Ritchie. It means the formal process can go to
the next stage and the youngster may be formally adopted in the
spring.
