Since opening in early 2006, Pacharan has risen as one of the stars in the Phnom Penh wining and dining firmament. The venue is like no other in town, a contemporary dining space housed in a beautifully renovated colonial villa with sweeping vistas overlooking the Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers. With its focus on authentic modern Spanish cuisine, Pacharan compliments the riverfront dining scene, offering a wide range of choices for the discerning diner and wine buff alike. Original artworks adorn the buff-coloured walls in the air-conditioned first-floor dining room, a petite terrace fronts the building with al fresco seating and magnificent view, while an enormous copper-topped bar wraps around the open kitchen as guests watch the chefs at work. Pacharan's sizeable menu includes a comprehensive selection of delicious Tapas creations, ranging from exotic salads to imported cured meats, Calamares to Gambas, with plenty of options in between. The Tapas menu is an ideal place to start a meal, or to share among friends while enjoying a drink or two at the convivial bar. Main courses run the Iberian gauntlet, with plenty of seafood alongside hearty meat dishes - including roast suckling pig - plus a healthy selection of vegetarian fare, all freshly prepared to order using the highest quality imported and local ingredients. And be sure to leave room for the Mediterranean-inspired desserts! Sundays are special are Pacharan, as the restaurant serves up its house speciality and Spain's most famous dish - Paella. At just US$10 per person including free-flowing Sangria, it's easy to see why Sunday at Pacharan has become a fixture on many a Phnom Penh expat's calendar. Pacharan is not just a restaurant however. The popular bar is home to a vast array of exotic liquors, and the comprehensive cocktail menu is sure to satisfy even the most demanding palate, while bibliophiles will appreciate Pacharan's extensive wine list featuring a wide selectioon of Spanish labels and vintages from around the world.
