Boozy celebrity chef Keith Floyd was rushed to hospital in Thailand
after collapsing in his restaurant.
The TV cook, 63, was holding a glass of wine when he fell off
his seat on Saturday night.
Witnesses at Floyd’s Brasserie on holiday isle Phuket
feared he may have had a heart attack or stroke. He was released
from hospital yesterday.
A witness said: “Keith was chatting to a young lad when he
suddenly slipped off his stool on to the floor. He was clutching a
glass of wine which smashed to pieces.
“He was lying there holding his chest and having a kind of
fit.
“It looked like some kind of heart attack or a stroke, and
was very distressing for everyone who saw it.”
GMTV star Floyd, a renowned boozer, was ordered to take three
months’ rest last year after docs diagnosed exhaustion and a
stomach ulcer.
He launched his Thai restaurant in the exclusive Burasari Resort
on Patong Beach earlier this year. A spokesman for the resort said
yesterday: “Mr Floyd’s resting.”
