Vietnam Airlines delayed a flight from Hanoi to Japan for more than four hours April 7th, because of a white mouse, according to news reports.
A Boeing 777 from the central city of Da Nang landed at the Hanoi-based Noi Bai International Airport at around 22pm, April 7. According to schedule, this Boeing would have to continue to fly to Japan but this flight was delayed because a passenger saw a mouse on the passenger cabin. Technicians were sent to seek and kill the mouse on the Boeing and this task lasted for over four hours. All passengers came to a hotel for taking a rest while all goods were removed to serve rat hunting. At 1am, April 8, technicians finished their job, finding a small white mouse. The aircraft took off at 4am.According to technicians, it is very lucky for them to quickly catch the mouse; otherwise they would have to continue this task till the mouse is found. If they don’t find out the mouse, they will have to close all the doors of the aircraft and spray chemicals to ensure that the mouse dies. Some employees of Vietnam Airlines said perhaps a passenger brought the white mouse to the Boeing and let it escape because most of white mice are bred in cage. According to regulations, passengers are not allowed to bring live animals to aircrafts but some passengers still hide their animals into their luggage. Some carriers have discovered passengers who bring snakes or cats to airplanes.
